Things to Do in North Georgia: Ride the Best OHV Trails

North Georgia is home to some of the most exciting and scenic off-road trails in the Southeast. Whether you're a beginner looking for a fun and safe ride or an experienced rider craving mud, hills, and rugged terrain — there's a trail for you.

We guide private ATV tours on a variety of legal OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) trails across the region. Here's a look at some of the top destinations for off-roading in North Georgia:

🏞️ 1. Beasley Knob OHV Trail

  • Location: Near Blairsville, GA

  • Difficulty: Advanced

  • Why Go: This is one of Georgia's most technical and challenging OHV systems — steep climbs, rocky terrain, and tight switchbacks. A must for experienced riders looking to test their skills.

  • Good to Know: Weather conditions can close trails, so we check ahead before heading out.

🌲 2. Davenport Mountain OHV Trail

  • Location: Near Blairsville, GA

  • Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate

  • Why Go: Smooth forest roads, manageable climbs, and incredible mountain views make this trail ideal for beginners or groups with mixed skill levels.

  • Good to Know: This is a loop trail, around 5–6 miles, perfect for short excursions.

🌄 3. Oakey Mountain & Moates Knob OHV Trail

  • Location: Near Clayton, GA

  • Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced

  • Why Go: Twisting trails through dense forest, with climbs, descents, and occasional open spaces. Offers both speed and technical sections.

  • Good to Know: Often overlooked, so it’s a great option for private groups looking to avoid crowded trailheads.

🪵 4. Whissenhunt OHV Trail

  • Location: Near Dahlonega, GA

  • Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate

  • Why Go: Close to Atlanta and perfect for half-day rides. Whissenhunt offers a nice mix of hill climbs, turns, and woods riding with well-maintained trails.

  • Good to Know: About 11 miles of riding with great access and facilities.

🌳 5. Houston Valley OHV Trail

  • Location: Near Dalton, GA

  • Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate
